Geometric plan
Definition
A geometric plan is a technical document defined by the Cadastral Act. It serves as a basis for the registration of ownership rights to real estate in the cadastral register.
Purpose and practical use of a geometric plan
Geometric plans provide a graphical representation of real estate and are typically prepared when properties are merged or subdivided. Through this visual format, it is possible to clearly identify changes before and after the merger or division of a property. Mandatory elements of a geometric plan include parcel numbers, land area, and land type.
Simply put, a geometric plan graphically records changes to land parcels and plots. The legal validity of this document is verified by the cadastral authority, while responsibility for its accuracy and legitimacy lies with the party that prepared it.
