Definition
The Cadastral Act is defined by Act No. 162/1995 Coll. of the National Council of the Slovak Republic on the Cadastre of Real Estate and on the Registration of Ownership and Other Rights to Real Estate (Cadastral Act).
Key concepts
The Cadastral Act defines several important terms, including: cadastre of real estate, cadastral information system, land plot, plot boundaries, cadastral documentation, and others.
Cadastre of real estate: This is a collection of all real estate, including geometric data, inventory, and descriptions of properties, along with ownership rights and associated easements.
Cadastral information system: The cadastre primarily serves an informational function. Through cadastral records, it is possible to determine property valuation, tax obligations, ownership, type of land, type of property, and similar information.
Land plot: A land plot refers to a specific area that is separated or defined by boundaries.
Plot boundaries: Plot boundaries are defined by corner points, with each boundary determined by the ownership rights of neighboring plots.
Cadastral documentation: The cadastral documentation is the complete set of records necessary for managing the cadastre. Today, it exists both in paper and electronic form. It includes documents related to parcels, owners, real estate, land registers, and more.
